At this very moment, there are millions of dogs across the United States sitting in shelters waiting to go to their forever home. Could you be the golden ticket for one of these deserving dogs? Our Watertown veterinarian at Watertown Animal Hospital is celebrating the ASPCA's Adopt A Shelter Dog Month throughout October.
In October, the ASPCA promotes shelter dog adoption throughout the United States. The goal is to get as many dogs out of shelters and into their forever homes as possible. By spreading the word about the importance of shelter dog adoptions, the ASPCA hopes to eliminate the need to euthanize healthy dogs due to space restrictions.
Adopt A Shelter Dog Month is hosted by the ASPCA, as well as by shelters and veterinarians across the United States. Many shelters run specials (such as no adoption fee days) to help families bring home new pets at a low cost.
Each year, many dogs who would make great pets are euthanized because there is not enough room for them at shelters. When you adopt a dog, you are saving their lives. It's important that people realize that shelter dogs are amazing pets who have just been through some unfortunate circumstances.
Did you change a dog's life by giving them a forever home? Bring them to our Watertown veterinarian at Watertown Animal Hospital so we can help you get them off to the right start. Call us today at 860-274-2212 so we can help you keep your new best friend healthy and happy.
