Watertown Animal Hospital, PC is proud to serve the Watertown CT area for everything pet related. Our veterinary clinic and animal hospital is run by Dr. Priscilla Kerbin and Dr. Steven Price, who are licensed, experienced Watertown Veterinarians.
Cathy Atwood - Receptionist
Cathy joined the staff of Watertown Animal Hospital in 1998. She began as a part time hospital assistant and quickly became an important part of our front office staff. She is our "go to person" for all questions regarding customer service!! Cathy is married and lives in Thomaston with her husband, Jeffrey. She also shares her home with 2 dogs Yukon & Shay and 5 cats. She enjoys walking with her dogs, doing puzzles and crafts and watching movies. Cathy started in this field because she enjoys the human animal bond.
Julie Biron - Technician
Julie started in the Veterinary profession during her senior year of high school. Growing up with a variety of cats, dogs, rabbits and guinea pigs she always wanted to work with animals. Although Vet school was not exactly what she wanted, becoming a Veterinary Technician was.
Julie has been a Veterinary Technician since 1985 and has been with the Watertown Animal Hospital since 2006. She graduated from The University of Connecticut in 1991 with a B.S. in Animal Science and Natural Resources and Pathobiology. In 2008 she was certified through Equissage NY/NE as an Equine Massage Therapist. Julie currently lives in Bethlehem with her husband Dan and their three children, Erin, Noah, and Jonah. As a family, they enjoy downhill skiing and spending time at the beach in New Hampshire every summer. Julie also shares her house with two cats, Gracie and Oscar and two dogs Ziggy and Maya. Maya was a rescue and has had many medical issues, but she has found a special place in our hearts.
Debra Freidus, DVM - Veterinarian
Debra received her AB from Mount Holyoke College in 1977, then worked in research at Rockefeller University in New York for a Nobel Laureate, and at Tufts Veterinary School. She received her DVM from Purdue University in 1984 and has practiced Veterinary medicine in Connecticut since graduation. She has worked at Watertown Animal Hospital since 1996. Her interests include breeding and raising pointers for conformation shows, field trials, and hunt tests. She is active in National and Regional Pointer Clubs. Debra lives with 5 dogs and a horse and enjoys antiquing and cooking.
Jill Guluzy - Receptionist/Tech Assistant
Jill has been a valuable part of Watertown Animal Hospital since 1989! She was our full-time receptionist until starting her family 2001. She is currently a part time employee and expanded her skills to Veterinary Assistant. Jill lives in Beacon Falls with her husband, Joe and their three children, Jennifer, Joseph and Jeffrey. She also shares her home with her happy go lucky pointer Cookie and her cat leaf a neighborhood stray. As a child, Jill always wanted to work with animals so when the opportunity arose she became part of our team.
Priscilla L. Kerbin, DVM - Veterinarian
Priscilla believes in the importance of the bond between pets and their people. Recognizing that, that relationship led her to a career in veterinary medicine and surgery. As a co-owner of the Watertown Animal Hospital since 1979, she has tried to promote an atmosphere of caring. Her main focus in the practice is surgery.
Priscilla earned her BA from Wellesley College (1968) and her DVM from Cornell College of Veterinary Medicine and Surgery. She previously practiced in Westbury, NY., Lansdowne, PA., Guelph, Ontario, Canada and Southbury, CT.
When not at Watertown Animal Hospital Priscilla enjoys riding, gardening, reading, needlepoint, and furniture refinishing. She volunteers at the Glebe House and Flanders Nature Center in Woodbury. Priscilla and her husband, Steve, live in a crooked old house in Woodbury with their elderly pacifist cat Icing, sister cats, Karla and Cosette (born on Bastille Day) and Ita, an adorable tiny Yorkie. Their two children are grown. Jarrel lives in Virginia and works for our government trying to support sustainable industry in Afghanistan. Addie lives in Cusco, Peru and teaches pre-k and K in a bilingual school.
Jennifer MacAulay - Technician
Jennifer has been a part of our team since 1992. Her duties include assisting in surgery, laboratory procedures, radiography, and reception. Congrats!! to Jen, she recently completed the Fundamentals of Small Animal Anesthesia. She currently lives in Torrington with her husband, Peter, and daughter, Brynn. She also shares her home with 2 dogs, Chimay and Peanut Butter, 4 cats, a guinea pig, and various fish! Jennifer also enjoys sewing/crafts, cooking/baking, home brewing, music, The D., art, and reading.
Vikki Magaraci - Technician
Vikki has worked at the Watertown Animal Hospital since its opening day in June 1979! She has worked in the veterinary field for over 37 years, has been a certified veterinary technician for the past 25 years and is a veterinary dental technician. She is also currently working part time as an emergency technician at a nearby Emergency Hospital. She has special interest and training in veterinary dentistry and animal behavior. Vikki enjoys showing her Irish Water Spaniels in both breeds (3 Champions!) and obedience competition (2 Titles!). She also enjoys walking her dogs, reading, gardening and traveling to dog shows and going to visit her friends in Alaska. Vikki shares her home with many non-human companions including dogs, cats, parrots, a tortoise and usually some "foster" animals.
Steven M. Price, DVM - Veterinarian
Steve graduated with distinction from New York State Veterinary College at Cornell University in 1971. He practiced from 1971 to 1974 in Wantagh, L.I., N.Y. Steve completed a one-year rotating small animal internship at the University of Pennsylvania Veterinary School in 1975. He spent the next two years completing an internship and residency in clinical pathology at the Ontario Veterinary College in Guelph, Ontario, Canada. Steve joined a private practice in Southbury, C.T. in 1978, and then operated an emergency clinic in Flushing, Queens, N.Y. In June 1979, Steve and his wife, Priscilla, purchased the Watertown Animal Hospital where he has since practiced. Steve has served on the Rabies Committee for the Connecticut Veterinary Medical Association since 1991 and has been the committee chairman since 1994. He served as Secretary of the Connecticut Veterinary Medical Society for 8 years. In addition, Steve is currently serving as the President/ Secretary for the Litchfield County Veterinary Medical Association. He is interested in sports and music.
Natasha Root - Technician
Natasha has been working in the veterinary field since 2005. She decided to become a veterinary technician because she has been surrounded by animals since birth and feels a special connection when she can help them. She has an A.S. in Veterinary Technology from NCCC and became a Certified Veterinary Technician in 2010. Natasha has a special interest in animal nutrition with certifications from Hills, Purina, and Eukanuba. She lives in Torrington, CT with her husband Brian. They surround themselves with 4 friendly leopard geckos, 3 energetic cats, Mittens (15y), Wiggles (7y), and Nikolai (4y), and 4 lovable dogs, Aedan a 9 year old Schipperke, Kaia a 8 year old Schipper-Poo, and a pair of Chiweenies, Gizmo and Nina who are 6 years old. When Natasha and Brian are not at home reading and cuddling with the furry family they are out hiking and traveling with the dogs.
Dana Scozzafava - Veterinarian
Dana received her Bachelor’s in Chemistry from Western Connecticut State University in 2002 and graduated from The Ohio State University in 2006. She has practiced in several local Veterinary clinics. Now working part time with us since 2011. Dana enjoys reading, baking, hiking but most time is spent with her husband Jason and two daughters Gwenevere & Fiona. She also cares for their dog (Astro), cat (Kaiden), guinea pig (Heidi) and 6 chickens.
Marybeth Spiotti, DVM - Veterinarian
Mary Beth grew up in Oakville, Connecticut. In fact, it was at Watertown Animal Hospital that she first acquired experience working in the veterinary medical profession as a high school student. Drs. Kerbin and Price served as two of her most valued mentors throughout high school and college. She graduated with honors from Holy Cross High School in Waterbury, CT. She then attended Michigan State University, where she earned both a Bachelor’s Degree in Comparative Physiology and later a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine. She graduated from both programs with honors.
Upon graduation, Mary Beth was awarded the American Animal Hospital Association Senior Student Award for Clinical Proficiency in Small Animal Medicine and Surgery. She was also inducted into the Society of Phi Zeta, the Honor Society for Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Spiotti is currently a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, the American Association of Feline Practitioners, the American Association of the Human Animal Bond Veterinarians, and the Association of Shelter Veterinarians. Mary Beth spends her free time at home with her husband, their two sons and their furry and feathered family members, including 3 dogs (Ginny, Mr. Bigglesworth, and Livy) one cat, Cubby, and their Sun Conure, Ruby. She is also a board member of the Torrington Area Health District.
Robin Tedesco - Receptionist
Robin has been a part of our team since 2009. She brings 14 years of bookkeeping/accounting experience and office management from the construction/electrical field. Robin currently resides in Waterbury with her dog Lollipop. She enjoys musical theatre, being a talented singer (played Sandy in the musical “Grease” and Maria in “The Westside Story”). She also enjoys scrapbooking, tennis and spending time with her family.
